Pleasantville — The Pleasantville Trojan baseball team defeated Martensdale-St. Marys Tuesday night, 3-1.
Martensdale-St. Marys, until late last week, was on its way to beating the undefeated record for high school baseball teams. They lost a game before playing Pleasantville.
The Trojans' victory was aided by the pitching of ace Collin Thomas. Thomas pitched a complete game and had two runs batted in.
Pleasantville is the first small school to defeat Martensdale-St. Marys in three years.
