Marion County — Wednesday night will be a busy one for football in Marion County, as four local teams play in the first round of the playoffs.
The Melcher-Dallas Saints did not quite achieve the perfect regular season this year, but at 7-1, the Saints have earned the right to host a game in the first round. They will face Colo-Nesco, who come into Melcher-Dallas with a 6-3 record.
The Saints' cross-county, eight-player rival, Twin Cedars, has also made the playoffs. The Sabers, who finished the season at 5-4, will be on the road to face undefeated (9-0) Murray.
Pella Christian (3-6) has a long trip in Class 1-A, as they travel to face Council Bluffs-St. Albert (8-1).
The Pella Little Dutch (6-3) will host 5-4 Keokuk in Class 3-A action.
