Homecoming court announced

Knoxville — Knoxville is preparing for homecoming week. The football game is not until Sept. 28, but the week kicked off this afternoon with a pep rally, and the announcement of the homecoming king and queen candidates.

Queen candidates this year are Emily Belloma, Brooke Chrisman, Anna Hawkshead, Jaimie Rinehart, Heather Walters and Tyra Washington. King candidates are Lukas Burke, Wick Cunningham, John Davis, Austin Gacke, Jeremy Rawlings and Colton Spaur.

There are six candidates for each position this year, due to a tie.

Students at KHS will have daily dress-up days next week and a dodgeball tournament. The community pep rally is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 27, at 7 p.m. There, the king and queen will be announced. A bonfire will be held in the gravel parking lot near the softball field following the rally. The homecoming parade will be held in downtown Knoxville at 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28. The game will be played at 7 p.m. that night against Carlisle.
