11. PROPOSAL FOR A SCHOOL-SPONSORED At least one parent will address the Board and
HIGH SCHOOL TRAP TEAM ask that board members authorize a school-
sponsored trap team. The parent has been asked to
share all aspects of the program that the school would be asked to provide.
RECOMMENDATION: Because this is the first time this request will be
brought to the board, I do not believe it is appropriate for the board to make a decision on the request. The item can be included on the agenda for the December 10 meeting.
12. INFORMATION - ENERGY USE REPORT Mr. Mobley has prepared a report comparing
energy usage during the past two years. The information from the report indicates that the energy-efficiency measures we have taken over the past couple years (lighting & boilers) have had a positive impact on energy use. A copy of the report is included as an attachment.
16. PROPOSED 28E AGREEMENT WITH CITY OF A copy of the proposed agreement is attached. Our
KNOXVILLE attorney is reviewing the agreement and will submit
recommendations and/or comments. The City will
approve the agreement upon tentative approval by the Board of Education. Action is not required at this meeting. Board members should ask questions and express thoughts concerning the agreement.
17. NOVEMBER 26 MEETING AT NORWALK - Superintendents and board members from Warren
DMACC SOUTHRIDGE CAMPUS County schools are invited to learn more about the
new Warren County DMACC Center, located at Southridge Mall. Representatives from districts close to the campus have also been invited. The meeting will be held in the Eastview 8-9 building, on the east side of the Norwalk campus. The meeting will begin at 7:00. DMACC officials will share information about the campus and programs that will be offered. We should leave Knoxville at 6:00.
18. DMACC CAREER ACADEMY DISCUSSION Leslie Miller attended a meeting of city officials,
DMACC representatives, and members of the
Knoxville Community to discuss opportunities for a DMACC Career Academy in Knoxville. Leslie would like to share information and gather input from board members regarding interest in working toward bringing more of a DMACC presence to Knoxville.
