Supports Dick Schrad as well

To the Editor:

As a past school board member locally for nine years, and a board member for the IASB, I was privileged to see firsthand the quality of education available to our children in Knoxville.

Obtaining the best education and skills possible is the most important thing a student can do to ensure success in life. The opportunity for Iowa students to continue to obtain these skills should be the chief concern for legislators in the coming years.

Dick Schrad, candidate for State Senate in District 14, supports our schools both at the local and state level. He knows that access to quality preschool, elementary, and secondary education allows our students to succeed in achieving the best attainable economic future.

Support of community colleges for technical training courses is critical now for Iowa economic growth. Partnering with local businesses they allow students to quickly enter the job market and become productive citizens.

Dick Schrad understands the importance of education and the educators that are dedicated to these goals. As our hard working city manager he knew the importance of balanced budgets, organization, and cooperation. He knows that the middle ground of compromise and research keeps the wheels turning and the state moving in the right direction.

I believe in our state, our community, our school system, and the hard working people that make this the best place in the nation to live. I believe in Dick Schrad and know he would be the best Senator for District 14 and Iowa!
