Pleasantville —
Ronald Lee Ammons, age 74 of Pleasantville, left our world, but not our hearts, on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at the Pleasant Care Living Center in Pleasantville of natural causes.
Ronald was born on Dec. 22, 1937, in Buena Vista County to Alvin Forrest and Florence Louella (Sexton) Ammons. He married the love of his life and his soul mate Oneta Malovah (Culberston) on Sept. 4, 1959. They were best friends and remained inseparable throughout their lives.
Into this loving union were born five children. Along with raising their children, Ronald and Oneta enjoy having and loving all breeds of dogs. Ron was forced into early retirement from National-By-Products in Des Moines in 1996 due to a crippling disability.
Those left to honor his memory include his loving wife, Oneta; sons, Ronald Jr. (Lucinda), Henry (Joan), David (Bobbi Jo); daughters, Melody (Steve), Jacqueline (Jim); grandchildren, Jacob (Tatiana), Jordan, Holden, Shawn, Brad, Meghan, Kailee, Dillen, Carson, little Elizabeth; great-grandson, Landon, along with other relatives and friends.
Per our father’s wish he will be cremated and await the day the Good Lord decides the love of his life will join him to seek out his final resting place and at that time the family will have a Celebration of his life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Marion County. Online condolences may be left at BertrandFuneralHomes.com
