Jerry Lee Sharp

Jerry Lee Sharp of Knoxville passed away Sunday morning, Feb. 7, 2010, at the Hospice Comfort House of Pella.

Memorial services with Masonic Rites were held Thursday., Feb. 11, at the Winfield-Evans-McCleery Funeral Home of Knoxville. Burial was held at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville following services.

The family requests no flowers. Memorial donations may be made to the Knoxville Masonic Lodge or Hospice Comfort House of Pella.

Jerry was born in Knoxville Jan. 26, 1940, the son of Harry and Muriel (Vander Linden) Sharp. He graduated from Bussey High School. Jerry was employed by Rankin Roofing and retired from the Knoxville Veterans Hospital after 28 1/2 years of service. Jerry was a member of the Knoxville Masonic Lodge and the ZaGaZig Shrine. He also was a member of the Isseta Parade Unit of the Shrine. Jerry had also been a member of the Knoxville Volunteer Fire Department for ten years, from 1976 to 1986. Jerry enjoyed camping with family and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother John Sharp. Jerry is survived by his children: Dale Sharp, Sherry (Millard) Gist, Lynne (Eric) Robinson, and Steve Sharp; grandchildren: Josh, Stephanie, Austin, Kaitlyn, Chris and Megan, and Curt and Mel; Great Grandchildren: Gage, Curtis, Hunter, Jaydon, and Landon. Jerry also is survived by his brothers Don (Kathy), Rick (Donna) and Ted (Judy); nieces and many much loved aunts, uncles and cousins.
