Boyd Davis

Bussey —

Boyd Elmer Davis, age 75, of Bussey, died on Oct. 10, 2012, at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.  He was born in rural Marion County on July 21, 1937, to L. Wayne and Bertha Mae (Wallace) Davis.

He graduated from Attica High School.  Boyd married Carol Ann Slay on June 8, 1958, at the Hamilton United Methodist Church, and they were blessed with four children: Margaret, Steven, Jennifer, and Susan.  He worked for Marion County as a Blade Operator and Road Grader.  Boyd's wife, Carol, died on May 3, 2003.  He enjoyed mushroom hunting, and going on drives to look at the Buffalo.  He especially liked his coffee time; whether it was going to Casey’s, McDonalds in Knoxville or Kin Folks in Attica.

He is survived by his children, Margaret Davis of Hamilton, Steven (Laura) Davis of Hamilton, Jennifer Hatcher of Bussey, Susan (Jason) Aldridge of Bussey, siblings, Loren (Irene) Davis of Hamilton, Ruth Bish of Woodburn, Ronald (Jean) Davis of Geneva, Paul (Connie) Davis of Knoxville, eleven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Carol Ann, and siblings, Lowell Davis, Verne Davis, Lola Arrendell, and Leatha Braden.

Boyd’s body has been cremated per his wishes, and there will be a burial of cremains in Marysville Cemetery in Marysville at a later date.

Memorials directed to the family.  Online condolences may be left at sinnottfuneralhome.com.
