Martha V. Hulgan, 83, of Perry passed away on Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at home. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family.

Martha Vanetta Hulgan was born on Sept. 17, 1929, to Charles and Julia Cowman DeMoss in Pleasantville. She was united in marriage to James Hulgan on Aug. 20, 1947, in Knoxville. Martha enjoyed reading, gardening and especially spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband, James; children, Barbara Johnson of Marion; Steven Hulgan of Manson; and Elizabeth (Gary) O’Neal of Madrid; sister, Joann Malone of Des Moines; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, son, James Hulgan; a brother, Charles DeMoss and sisters, Nellie Robinson and Charlene Thompson.
