A Celebration of Life Service was held for Betty (Capper) Allen, of Des Moines and formerly Knoxville, on Friday, May 18, 2012, at the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home with Rev. Josyph Andrews officiating.

Burial followed in the Graceland Cemetery. Musical selections of “Old Rugged Cross”, “Rock of Ages” and “Mama Tried” were shared. Casket bearers were Orville Loghry, Jr., John Loghry, Jr., Chris Kern, Clifford Loghry, Mike Cutwright and David Dunn. Honorary casket bearers included; Jessica Loghry, Brina Loghry, Storm Cutwright, Kane Cutwright, Preston Kern, Cheyenne Kern, Clifford Loghry, Jr., Bradon Loghry, Tony Sanford, Shay Sanford, DJ Sanford, Jessica Loghry, Elizabeth Loghry and Matthew Sasser.

Margaret Elizabeth Capper was born on Nov. 7, 1931, in Knoxville, the daughter of David Alonzo Capper and Fern Bessie (Jones) Capper.

She grew up in Knoxville and was united in marriage to Clifford C. Loghry. Following Clifford’s passing, Betty was united in marriage to David William Allen. She enjoyed working at the Younker’s Tea Room before her retirement and then went on to work part-time at Burger King

Betty passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at her home at the age of 80 years.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; and her siblings: John Capper, James Capper, Gus Capper, Pearl Capper, Shirley Clark, Bernard Capper and a great-grandson, Triston Kern.

Survivors include her children: Orville (Ramona) Loghry, Sr., John (Jeanne) Loghry, Sr., Richard Loghry, Roger (Lisa) Loghry, James Loghry; step-children: Patricia (Bob) Thompson, Victoria (Donnie) Fichter, Juanita Brower, Christina Allen, Nicholas (Nick) Allen, Norma (Don) McVey; 29 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and a brother, Earl Capper of Naperville, Ill.
