Sylvia May Slykhuis passed away on Feb. 22, 2013, at her home in Blakesburg at the age of 94.
A graveside service was held on Monday, Feb. 25, at Greenwood Cemetery in rural Knoxville with Pastor Brent Hanna officiating.

Mike Monteleone passed away quietly on May 3, 2013, at the age of 81 after a two-month hospitalization. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be designated to the Jasper County Animal Rescue League and Humane Society and may be left at the funeral home.
