Engineer plans to dump 39,000 tons of rock

Knoxville — As spring temperatures warm and the snow melts our rocks roads are transforming from a hard surface frozen state to a softer moist state allowing the frost to come to the surface. To combat the roads losing their integrity we will be hauling approximately 39,000 tons of rock in the next six to eight weeks using two belly dumps, eight tandem axle trucks, and eight single axle trucks. The trucks have the capability to haul approximately 1400 tons a day. We can’t be everywhere at once, but hope to get some rock on the areas in most need of rock by the first of May.
