Gingrich will also meet with business owners in Cedar Falls and Ames later in the day as well as addressing a meeting of Iowans for Tax relief in Waterloo in the evening. Newt Gingrich on the economy:
“Small business owners deserve relief, but our country's current economic policies are likely to result in more taxes, more regulations, and more obstacles to growth. Going forward, there are several steps Congress must take if they are serious about helping America’s small businesses.” (Source: Inc.)
“I think to raise taxes on people who create jobs in the middle of a 9.5 percent unemployment rate is frankly, crazy.” (Source: ABC News.)
“I don’t think this president will control spending. I don’t think the democrats in the House and Senate will control spending. So they want the right to run up the biggest credit card in history, more than any teenager in America, and then turn around and tell the rest of us we have to pay for their credit card,” (Source: ABC News.)
The visit marks Gingrich’s third trip to Iowa in 2010. In June, he partnered with the Republican Party of Iowa and the House Majority Fund to host a workshop in Des Moines for candidates and earlier this month he attended the Iowa State Fair with his wife Callista.
