Republican Candidate for Iowa House District 28 Greg Heartsill led in contributions once again at the time of the last reporting date with $5,764.50.
The reporting deadline was July 19. In that same period, Democrat Megan Suhr raised $2,615.
Suhr received 45 donations. They ranged from as high as $250 to $5. She received three $250, one of which came from a local source. The others came from an individual in West Des Moines and from Laborers Local 177 PAC.
Heartsill received 38 donations. They ranged from $1,500 to $5. The $1,500 donation came from an individual with a Newton address. Heartsill also received a $1,000 donation from Iowans for Tax Relief
PAC.
Expenditures for Heartsill totaled $7,075.65. Suhr spent $900.54. Cash on hand at the end of the period for Heartsill totaled $1,533.36. Suhr had $3,284.98.
In the Iowa State Senate District 14 race, Democrat Dick Schrad received $670 in contributions, compared to his Republican rival, Amy Sinclair's, $2,062.
Schrad received 11 donations, ranging from $250 to $10. The $250 donation was from the Clarke County Democrat in Murray.
Sinclair received 19 donations, ranging from $500 to $14. The $500 donation was from her father-in-law.
Schrad had $2,458.73 in outstanding loans, to Sinclair's $8,100. Both candidates' debts stem from themselves, as individuals, loaning money to their respective campaigns.
Sinclair's expenditures totaled $4,827.66 and leaves her with cash on hand of $4,294.73. Schrad spent $704.20 and has $2,201 in cash on hand.
Through June 30, the latest filing deadline for federal candidates, Democrat Dave Loebsack raised $409,001 in individual contributions and $639,763 from PACs and other committees. Loebsack is seeking Iowa's Second District seat in the US House of Representatives. He spent $281,617 and has $801,189 in cash on hand.
His opponent, Republican John Archer, raised $315,023 in individual donations and $11,000 from PACs. He spent $262,466 and has $63,557 in cash on hand.
The list of individual donors who contributed to Archer showed none from Marion County. Loebsack received one donation from an individual in Pella.
