Knoxville — Pending an inspection, the new hotel in Knoxville, the Cobblestone Inn, could be open as soon as Monday. Either way, the hotel should be open next week.
Construction of the 36-room hotel, located behind Fareway on Eric Drive, began April 17. Brimark Builders is the construction company.
Workers are putting the finishing touches on the hotels interior. In a couple of days, the areas shown in the photos accompanying this article will look much cleaner and complete.
One area that will not be complete by next week is the indoor swimming pool. That is expected to be open in September.
Sara McKay, General Manager, said that she has begun to compile a reservation list for the hotel's rooms. An official list will not be done until the final inspections are complete.
"We're really excited," McKay said. She is glad there is another option available for Knoxville's leisure and business guests. In her words, the hotel is an amazing project, one that has had great support from the Knoxville community.
In addition to the hotel rooms, the facility will include a pub and a conference room. When one walks inside the door, McKay says they will be treated to photos displaying Knoxville and its heritage.
The hotel, when open, should add approximately 10 jobs to the community. A grand opening will likely be held weeks after the hotel is open. For more information, visit http://www.staycobblestone.com.
