Accident Sends Six to Hospital

from the Marion County Sheriff's Office

On Monday March 4, at 12:53 a.m., the Marion County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a single vehicle roll over accident, approximately two miles west of Pella, near the intersection of Hwy. 163 and 195th Ave. Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies, Pella Police, Pella Ambulance, and Pella Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the scene.

The investigation showed Aung Myint, of Marshalltown, was headed westbound on Hwy. 163 when he lost control of his 2000 Mazda Van, due to weather related conditions. The vehicle entered the north ditch of Hwy. 163, rolled and came to rest on its side. All six (6) occupants of the vehicles were transported to the Pella Regional Hospital and treated for, what appeared to be, non-life threatening injuries.

No citations were issued and this accident remains under investigation by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
