Optimists donate diggers

Knoxville — The Knoxville Optimist Club recently donated two new diggers to the City of Knoxville. The playground equipment was placed in Auld Park last Friday.

The equipment was tested this afternoon by Trenton and Briar Kingrey. They appeared to have fun digging into the sand placed around the diggers.

Knoxville Street Superintendent Dennis Webb said the Parks Department is thankful for the donation. The City intends to seed the area around the diggers and place a border around the sandy area.
