Accident near Pella
Pella — On March 11, at 7:06 p.m., the Marion County Sheriff's Office received a report of an overturned trailer on Hwy 163, approximately 3 miles West of Pella. Sheriff’s Deputies responded along with Pella Fire and Rescue. Investigation by the Marion County Sheriff's Office showed that a David James Steffl of Waverly Tennessee was operating a 2004 Ford truck pulling a cargo trailer east bound on Hwy 163 when he swerved to miss a deer in the roadway. The driver lost control and the trailer detached from the pickup and entered the median then rolled onto its top.
The driver and passenger was assessed for injuries by Pella ambulance personnel and released at the scene with no injuries.
Damage was estimated at $3,000.
