Greiner is Shining Star of the Year

Pella —

Norb Greiner, Respiratory Care, was recently selected by co-workers as the 2012 Shining Star of the Year at Pella Regional Health Center.

Greiner, resident of Knoxville, was Shining Star of the Month in September. Shining Star is a reward and recognition program at Pella Regional designed to acknowledge an employee each month that demonstrates outstanding standards of behavior and inspires others to do their best. At the end of the year one of the Shining Star of the Month recipients is then chosen by Pella Regional employees as Shining Star of the Year.

An excerpt from his nomination form said:

“Norb has gone above and beyond providing great patient care to our patients, but this act of his Christian compassion makes me very proud to be part of Pella Regional. We have a patient that has been in and out of the hospital quite a bit the past year. On this last visit, the patient was in grave condition and transferred to a Des Moines hospital. Norb visited the patient and spouse over the weekend to check in and let them know he was concerned and thinking about them. I believe Norb is one of the reasons patients choose Pella Regional and this example of his actions defines us as an organization.”

Greiner receives an Employee of the Year plaque, a $250 gift and a professional photo displayed in the hospital.
