Behind the scenes

Knoxville — A quick tour behind the scenes at the Marion County Fairgounds today showed many sprint car crews working on their vehicles.

Several cars were seen slightly dismantled, as mechanics prepare their vehicles for the second night of the Nationals Thursday night.

As one cruises the campground, license plates from all across the country could be seen on the various cars, motor homes and other vehicles.

In a visit with Marion County Sheriff Ron Goemaat, he reported that there were no problems last night, in regard to law enforcement.

The Nationals continue tonight through Saturday night.
