The Christmas Spirit Lives

Knoxville —

To the editor:

The Christmas Spirit lives. Thank you, young man, for sharing your Christmas spirit with me. I was shopping at Walmart Dec. 24 when a young lad came to me and asked if I would like a Christmas gift card. He was so sincere. I was in tears.

I was so humbled, I didn't know how to respond. I couldn't say no because I wanted him to feel blessed, too, so I shared his blessing with two other customers on my way out.

That was my best Christmas gift ever, to know the Christmas Spirit still lives. Thank you, again, young man. I'm sure your parents are so proud of you, too!
