Slideshow: RVTV a huge success in Knoxville

Knoxville — The street party thrown in Knoxville Wednesday night brought thousands of people to the downtown square.

Everywhere you looked, people got into the football spirit, wearing the colors of the team they are supporting on Saturday. That is when the Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa State Cyclones will meet each other on the gridiron. The game is scheduled to kick off Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

WHO-HD inspired the party by bringing its annual RVTV event to town. Many locals saw themselves on WHO newscasts at 5, 6 and the late edition, following the NFL kickoff game. The newscasts each featured stories about Knoxville as well.

The Knoxville Chamber of Commerce had almost a month to plan the event, which included a dunk tank, a football challenge, tailgate food, games and Knoxville High School's band, cheerleaders and dancers.

Pella is hosting the RVTV crew tonight.
