Celebration Iowa Singers and Jazz Band, a select high school touring ensemble that will perform more than 30 shows across the state of Iowa this summer, is accepting audition applications for the 2010 Summer Tour.
High school students can audition for the 20-singer/dancer roles or for instrumentalist positions with the jazz band on trumpet, trombone, saxophone, piano, guitar, string bass or percussion.
Sophomore, junior and senior high school students in Iowa are encouraged to audition for this opportunity in musical performance, learning from some of Iowa’s finest music and performing arts teachers, and making new friends and traveling across the state of Iowa.
The first audition will be held at Luther College on Sunday, Feb. 28. Celebration Iowa will also hold auditions in Storm Lake on Thursday, March 4, Cedar Rapids on Friday, March 5 and Des Moines on Saturday, March 6.

Now in its 28th season, Celebration Iowa brings together a gifted staff of teachers, professionals and students to create and present a family-friendly two-hour production that includes song, dance and jazz band favorites.
Celebration Iowa, a project of Luther College in Decorah, Iowa is also funded by the R.J. McElroy Trust, the Fred Maytag Family Foundation, The Iowa West Foundation, and the Celebration Iowa Alumni and Parent Fund. Cast members also secure local sponsorships to defray personal costs.
