Winter isn't through with us yet

OTTUMWA — Ready for the second winter storm in less than a week? No?

Too bad Mother Nature isn't taking residents' views into account.

The National Weather Service is predicting 4-7 inches of snow in southern Iowa early this week. The snow may start as soon as Monday night (a winter storm watch goes into effect at 7 p.m. Monday), but most of the snow is expected to fall Tuesday. Current forecasts say it will taper of Tuesday evening.

Heavier amounts won't miss Iowa by much. Parts of Missouri are expecting up to 10 inches. This storm is hitting harder to the south and west, with blizzard warnings posted for parts of Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico.
