MYSTIC —
Wednesday Congressman Dave Loebsack announced that the city of Mystic is the recipient of a $467,000 loan and a $463,000 grant from the United States Department of Agriculture’s Water and Waste Disposal Rural Development program.
“Investments in infrastructure, particularly in the state’s more rural areas, are key to rebuilding Iowa’s economy,” said Loebsack. “I am pleased that the city of Mystic is receiving the funding to make these necessary improvements.”
The funds will be used to rehabilitate the existing sewage collection system and lagoon for the city of Mystic and to bring it into compliance with Iowa Department of Natural Resources standards. It is estimated that 181 rural residents and businesses will benefit.
