Five defendants sentenced; sixth opts for trial

CENTERVILLE — Five defendants from southeast Iowa charged various types of methamphetamine-related charges have all been sentenced. A sixth defendant, from Appanoose County, has a jury trial later this month.

Leanna Rae Ruckman, 47, Centerville, has a jury trial set for Jan. 29. She is charged with one count of controlled substance violation, a class B felony, and one count of precursor substance violation, a class C felony.

The outcomes for the other five defendants:

Terry Lee Firth, 44, Mystic, was given a five-year suspended prison sentence, five years probation with the Department of Corrections, a fine and credit for time served on the charge of controlled substance violation, a class D felony.

Fawn Renee Hennick, 48, Melrose, was also given a five-year suspended prison sentence, five years probation with the Department of Corrections, a fine, suspended and credit for time served on the charge of possession of pseudoephredrine, a class D felony.

Richard Lee Ruckman, 24, Mystic, was originally charged with one count of controlled substance violation, a class C felony, and had that charge dismissed by the court on Oct. 16.

Robert Warren See, Jr., 53, Mystic, received a five-year suspended prison sentence, fine, suspended and credit for time served for the charge of possession of lithium, a class D felony.

The fifth and final defendant sentenced in this case, William Henry Vandermark, 35, Mystic, was sentenced by Judge Daily Dec. 21 to a deferred judgement, $750 fine and five years probation with the DOC for one count of possession of anhydrous ammonia, a class D felony.
