Arrest made in Cincinnati stabbing

CENTERVILLE — On Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012 at approximately 9:59 p.m. the Appanoose County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a stabbing at 205 S. LaSalle St. in Cincinnati.

According to the sheriff’s office press release, when officials arrived they found that Pete Fowler, 35, of Cincinnati, had a severe laceration to the arm from a knife.

Investigation of the incident revealed that Fowler had been in a physical altercation with another adult male, who was identified as Nathan K. Menuis, 39, of Centerville.

During the altercation, Menuis pulled a knife from his coat pocket and cut Fowler in the arm causing a severe laceration that required Fowler to be transported to a Des Moines area hospital by air ambulance.

Menuis fled the area and was later found near the east edge of Cincinnati along Highway 5, where he voluntarily turned himself over to authorities without incident.

Menuis was charged with willful injury, class C felony, and is being held in the Appanoose County Jail on $10,000 bond.

Fowler was treated at a Des Moines area hospital for his injuries and was released.
