Sunday crash kills What Cheer woman

WHAT CHEER — The Iowa State Patrol has released a preliminary report on a crash that killed a What Cheer woman.

The crash took place at 9:20 p.m. Sunday on West Washington Street in What Cheer. The patrol says Christine Smith, 37, of What Cheer was walking eastbound in the street when she was struck and killed by a minivan driven by Adam Cragg, 15, also of What Cheer.

The investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed.
