Fire claims Fremont home

FREMONT — A fire caused the Fremont home of Blayne Johnston, 134 S. Cumberland St., to be considered a "total loss" by Cedar Township Fire Cheif Kendal Sines Monday morning.

"I woke up and she was ablaze," said Johnston as the house continued to burn.

No one was injured in the fire, which impacted the home's attic. Johnston said himself, his girlfriend and their dogs were the only ones home at the time of the fire.

"It was all in the attic," remarked Sines at the scene of the fire.

The Cedar Township Fire Department was assisted by the Oskaloosa Fire Department at the fire.

Sines said the cause of the fire is unknown at this time, but that it will be investigated.
