Slideshow: PTO International Night at Northstar

Knoxville — Hundreds of Knoxville children and adults cris-crossed the globe without leaving the friendly confines of Northstar Elementary at the PTO's first International Night on Feb. 19.

The parking lot was full as many families checked in as they entered the school building for their "passport," a piece of paper in which they could get stamped by visiting each "country," represented in the gymnasium and many of the classrooms.

Inside, presenters utilized multimedia and traditional presentations to teach visitors about each specific country. Europe, Australia, Africa, North and South America were all represented.

The evening's event also included food and beverages, native to each land. More traditional, American beverages and cookies were also part of the event.
