Veterans Day ceremony held at Senior Center

Knoxville — The Knoxville Senior Center hosted its annual Veterans Day tribute this morning. This year's focus was on women who have served. 

The American Legion and VFW presented the colors at the event, along with Jim Sperr, on behalf of the Boy Scouts. Jackie Duffy and the Knoxville Chamber Choir performed the National Anthem, as well as a medley of songs from each branch of the service. 

The program, emceed by Roy Richardson, was scheduled to include stories from female veterans Sheila Weldon, Christine Meyers and Jodi Marti. Outside of the choir and those who participated in the event, there were 14 people in attendance.
