Swan — On November 30, at approximately 2:52 a.m. the Marion County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a possible drowning. The Marion County Sheriffs’ Office, Runnells Fire Department and Pleasant Hill Fire Department responded to the scene (175 35th Place - north of Swan according to reports). Sheriff’s Deputies and Pleasant Hill responders were able to locate Richard Charles Owens age 78 of rural Runnells in a pond behind his residence. A Marion County Medical Examiner pronounced him deceased at the scene. His body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the exact cause of death.
