Lake Red Rock — The Red Rock Lake Association's Red Nosed Ice Fishing Tournament, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 9, has been canceled.
Notice of the cancellation was received by RRLA member Matt Kissinger this morning. The event had previously been postponed, due to the lack of ice on the lake.
As one drives over the Mile Long Bridge, one can see that there is still not a thick layer of ice on the lake.
Truck hits power line
A Donaldson Delivery boom truck struck a secondary power line in an alley near the corner of Brobst and Robinson around 11:15 a.m.
Alleged counterfeiter arrested
The Knoxville Police Department reports having a suspect in custody, who may be responsible for the counterfeit $100 circulating in town.
The Knoxville Chamber of Commerce and Knoxville Police Department report that counterfeit $100 bills are being circulated around Knoxville.
A motorcyclist was transported via air to Methodist hospital in Des Moines following an accident on Highway 14 in Knoxville this afternoon.
City likely to accept title
The City of Knoxville will likely accept the title to 110 East Robinson, the building severely damaged in an arson fire on March 25.
Governor includes Marion County in disaster declaration
Building deemed fire hazard prior to blaze
Following inspection, the City of Knoxville had deemed 110 East Robinson a nuisance, over one year before the building was set on fire on March 25.
Smith pleads guilty
Jake Christian Smith, 19, pled guilty to sexual exploitation of a minor and third-degree sexual abuse this morning in Marion County District Court.
The Marion County Sheriff's Office shared this list of locations where power lines are currently down.
Snowstorm in May
Reports of power lines down, several cars in the ditch, snow plows out on the roads and a school cancellation are nothing new to the people of Marion County. However, this report seems more likely to describe conditions in December, or even early March, not Friday, May 3.
